The Best Plans

I couldn’t have started this adventure without a plan, but now that it has begun I see far less utility in having a plan. Along the way there will be problems and there will be opportunities. I want the flexibility to make adjustments when I encounter either and now I have encountered both. Plan has been modified. No, abandoned.

Located a post office and sent a few nice-to-have-but-can-do-without things back home to lighten the load. Consumed a few days of food. Pack is well under 30 pounds now. East Texas is flat. Lots of trees. Flat. Some rivers and lakes. Refineries. And flat. I didn’t feel the least bit guilty catching a ride to Baton Rouge.
