Mentoring

Spend a day (or two, or more) with Rich and tap into the knowledge he has gained over 40+ years of canyoneering, guiding and teaching. Throughout each day you will be presented with a series of scenarios designed to hone your anchor, rigging and problem-solving skills. You won’t just be learning how to perform tasks; you will be gaining a much deeper understanding into principles and physics behind techniques and systems, as well as insights into group dynamics and leadership.

Each mentoring day will be unique. You are encouraged to participate often.

Competencies Checklist, Level 1-2-3

Prerequisites:

• Confidence on rope
• Serious desire to become a more self-reliant canyoneer.

Gear Requirements:

• Harness with safety lanyard
• Helmet
• Rappel/belay device
• 5-6 locking carabiners, HMS (pear-shape) preferred
