The MOFT (Munter overhand follow through) knot pass is an easy way to pass a knot on a rope when lowering with a munter hitch. You might choose to do this if you need to isolate a section of rope from damage or lower a climber or rescuer more than one rope length and tie two ropes together. Demonstrated with an overhand on a bight and with a flat overhand, but can also be done with an alpine butterfly.
That was sweet! I never saw that coming! This will be my go to for lowering if I have to pass a knot!
