December 1 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm MST
Instructor: Rich Carlson
What is the best carabiner? What is the best rope? The best harness? The best rappelling device? If there was an objective answer, there would be only one choice and everyone would agree. When these questions are asked in internet forums, all responses should begin with, “In my subjective opinion …”
In this workshop Rich is not going to give you his opinions about what gear is best. Instead, the discussion will be about the objective attributes of various gear — materials, fibers, shapes, fabrication methods, etc. — to help you evaluate gear and choose for yourself. PLUS, some insights from Rich about how gear has developed during his four decades of canyoneering experience.
